Competition Format

Competition will consist of 50 targets from the 16 yard line. Singles only. No handicap or doubles will be offered.

Equipment: shotgun, maximum 12 ga. (Note: 20 ga. may be used), 3 dram, 7 1/2 shot, 1 1/8 oz. target loads.

Target fee will be collected at range.

SCTP Rules.

Due to the nature of this competition, the range officers’ decisions regarding any question concerning rules will be final.

Hearing and eye protection are required. All shooters are responsible for their own equipment.

Age Determining Date

September 15, 2023. Grade Divisions are based on the 2023-2024 year.

Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded in each division.

Entry Fee

Participants may enter the High School shooting event and the June Trapshooting Events (June 15) for one entry fee.  Target fees will still apply for both events at the venue.   Participants who participate in the June Trapshooting event will also have the chance to advance to the Finals on Saturday, August 17 .

Eligibility Requirements

All participants must be enrolled in the High School & Scholastic Clay Target Program to enter. Before registering for competition, shooters need to obtain their DNR Shooter Number from their coach. For information on enrollment in the High School & Scholastic Clay Target Program, participants/coaches should contact Chris Van Gorp with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources shooting sports. Please allow at least 3 weeks to process registrations and DNR shooter numbers.

Trapshooting | INDIVIDUAL | FEMALE & MALE

5th Grade & Under | 16 yard

6th-8th Grade | 16 yard

9th-12th Grade | 16 yard

**Male and Female divisions will be offered for each age group and awarded separately.

Trapshooting | TEAM | COED

5th Grade & Under | 16 yard

6th-8th Grade | 16 yard

9th-12th Grade | 16 yard

*A team consists of 5 shooters.

Registration Deadline

Entry Fee: $15 + target fees (target fees to be paid on-site)

Participants who shoot at the SCTP event can compete in the June event for free (will pay target fees only).
