Competition will consist of three 50 target events: 16 yard, handicap and doubles.
Equipment: shotgun, maximum 12 ga., 3 dram, 7 1/2 shot, 1 1/8 oz. target loads.
Teams will shoot as a team. Team awards are based upon the combined 16 yard score. A team consist of 5 shooters. Shooters may enter a higher grade level (i.e. 5th graders can shoot with 8th graders, etc.)
All ATA rules will be enforced. Minimum handicap yardage will be 19 yards.
Tie breakers will be handled in a format set by the host site. Each site may determine tie breakers differently.
Hearing and eye protection are required. All shooters are responsible for their own equipment.
ATA Divsion is no longer offered but ATA shooters are allowed to shoot but will be handicapped to the 19 yard line or ATA yardage, whichever is greater.
Grade Divisions are based on the 2023-2024 school year: September 15, 2023.
18 & Over Divisions: June 15, 2024
Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals will be awarded to the top three athletes in each division at each regional site.
Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals will be awarded to the top three athletes in each division at the State Games of America.
The top three winners at each location and in each division will qualify for the Finals on August 17 in Ankeny.
Teams: Teams may substitute from the June event. Substitute team members need to complete an Iowa Games waiver if they did not participate in the June event.
