Competition Format

Participants may register for up to three events: 16 Yard, Handicap, and Doubles
Competition will consist of 50 targets in each event registered.

Teams will shoot as a team. Team awards are based upon the combined 16 yard. A team consists of 5 shooters. Shooters may enter at a higher grade level (i.e. 5th graders can shoot with 8th graders, etc.)

Equipment: shotgun, maximum 12 ga., 3 dram, 7 1/2 shot, 1 1/8 oz. target loads.

Rules

All ATA rules will be enforced. Minimum handicap yardage will be 19 yards. Contestants that are ATA registered will be handicapped to the 19 yard line or ATA yardage, whichever is greater.

Tie Breakers will be handled in a format set by the host site. Each site may determine tie breakers differently.

Hearing and eye protection are required. All shooters are responsible for their own equipment.

Due to the nature of this competition, the listed range officers’ decision regarding any question concerning rules will be final.

Age Determining Date

Grade divisions are based on the 2023-2024 school year (age as of September 15, 2023).

Age divisions based on athletes age on day of competition.

Awards sponsored by Grinnell Mutual

Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals will be awarded in each division.

T-shirts

Registration includes a cotton t-shirt.

Additional target fees may need to be paid on the day of competition. Entry fee does not include target fees. Contact the Commissioner at your site for target fee information.
