Competition Format

Events will be grouped by test level as indicated. Event eligibility is based on test status as of Feb. 2, 2025 (entry deadline). Males and females will compete separately. However, if entries warrant and to give all athletes an opportunity to compete, male and female skaters may compete together in the same event. Levels with more than eight (8) entries may be divided by age.  Competition level is the highest test passed as of the entry deadline, in the discipline the skater is entering.  Entrants may skate one level above that for which they qualify, but they may not skate down in any event.

Age restrictions/ requirements:
Singles free skate events (Well Balanced Program) have the following requirements. Juvenile: Girls – 12 years of age or younger; Boys – 13  years of age or younger, Open Juvenile: Girls – 13 years of age or older; Boys – 14 years of age or older Intermediate must be under the age of 18.
Adults must be 21 years of age or older.

System of Judging: 6.0

Competition

This event is open to the residents of Iowa. Open to all skaters including United States Figure Skating (USFS) and Ice Skating Institute (ISI) skaters. Competition level is the highest level passed as of the entry deadline, in the discipline the skater is entering. Entrants may skate one level above their test level, but may not skate down in any event.  Skaters holding memberships in both USFS and ISI must skate at highest level attained. For example, a USFS Preliminary / ISI Free Skate 6 skater must skate at the ISI level. Level is determined as of the date of registration closing. Please see the Competition Announcement for a conversion table of USFSA and ISI test levels”.

The competition will be held on a 200×100 OLY rink.

Medals will be presented to the top three athletes in each division and will be presented at the conclusion of each level.

T-shirts

Registration includes a cotton t-shirt. Athletes have the option to upgrade their cotton shirt to a dri-fit shirt for an additional $12.00 until January 2.

Practice Ice

Practice Ice will be available for purchase and scheduled through EntryEeze. You can purchase practice ice at the time of registration. Below are the practice ice fees & deadlines:

Early Fee: $10 (through February 2, 2025)
Final Fee: $15 (February 3-20, 2025)
On-site: $20 (if available – February 22-23, 2025)

Music

Upload music to Entryeeze by February 17, 2025 or there will be a late fee of $20.
