Competition Format

Bracket or round robin play. Scoring will be based upon a 10 point scoring system detailed in the tournament rules. If a tie exists in points after all preliminary games, then it will be broken based upon criteria outlined in tournament rules. Teams may be formed in any way. Games will be 30 minute halves for 11 v 11 and 20 minute halves for 6 v 6. Teams may have no more than 25% of their players under the age of 18. Players must be at least 16 years of age to compete in the Senior Soccer division.

Players on male and female teams may register on more than one team unless they are registered on a competitive team. Competitive players can only play on one team.  No special scheduling arrangements will be made to ensure there are not scheduling conflicts if players are playing on more than one team.

Age Determining Date

July 13, 2023 – Players must be at least 16 years of age by the day of the tournament to participate.

11 v 11: Max 18 players for men; 20 players for coed
6 v 6: 12

Gold, silver or bronze medals will be awarded in each division.

Referee Requirements

Providing names of referees is no longer required by teams. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and overall national shortage of referees, we strongly encourage teams to submit at least one referee. All referees are paid. If you know of anyone interested in referring, please click HERE and sign up (link to be posted by March 1). This will allow us to gather your availability for scheduling purposes. Once a schedule is complete, the Soccer Commissioner will be contacting you regarding your assigned games. Please keep in mind, all paid soccer officials are covered by Iowa Games insurance.
