Qualifying Event

2022 State Games of America

All Iowans are eligible to participate!

T-shirts

Athletes will receive a colored T-shirt for their entry fee. Pre-registered athletes may upgrade their cotton shirt for a dri-fit for an additional $12 through June 23.

T-shirt will be at the venue.

Competition Format

Each match is 3 minutes, modified double elimination or round robin.  KATA Competition: for brown belts and under first three sets of NAGE-NO-KATA, advanced all forms, all sets. The tournament directors reserve the right to adjust divisions based on the number of entries. Junior divisions will be established based on a combination of weight and age.

Rules

Modified IJF rules will apply. No chokes allowed if either competitor is under the age of 13. No arm bars allowed in Junior competition. USA Judo sanction application filed.

Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals will be awarded to top finishers in each division.

Sport Specific Information

ALL athletes must have a white Gi, and current membership card from one of the following organizations: USJI, USJA, ATJA, AJJT or USJF. Athletes must also provide proof of current insurance.
