Competition will begin at 8:00AM on  Saturday and 9:00AM on Sunday for all divisions. 

The awards ceremony will be held shortly after the final round is finished.

2026 QUALIFYING EVENT

T-Shirt Information

All target archery athletes must pick up their t-shirts at Sukup End Zone at Jack Trice Stadium (1732 S 4th St, Ames, IA 50011)

Competition Format

Outdoors FITA 60 arrows (600 rd); 48 inch face at:
60-50-40 yards (Adult)
50-40-30 (Young Adult Recurve) and 60-50-40 (Young Adult Compound)
40-30-20 (Youth Recurve) and 50-40-30 yards (Youth Compound)
30-20-10 yards (Cub)

Rules

SCORING
The targets are scored 10, 9, 8, 7 etc.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
No state or national affiliations are required.

Limit of Entries:

A limited number of entries (approx. 114 spots) will be accepted.  Keep checking the website page for up to date spots available for the competition.

Iowa Senior Games – 50 & Over

The Iowa Games and Iowa Senior Games have partnered to offer athletes age 50 & over a unique opportunity.  When you register for the Summer Iowa Games archery competition, you will automatically be included in the Iowa Senior Games!  Athletes will receive an Iowa Senior Games t-shirt and an Iowa Senior Games medal (top 3 places per age division only).  If you wish to participate in additional Iowa Senior Games sports, contact the Iowa Senior Games for how to register at info@iowaseniorgames.org.

Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals will be awarded for first, second and third in each division.

The awards ceremony will be held shortly after the last event in finished on Sunday, July 20, 2025.

Male & Female divisions offered for all age/events – Competitors must shoot both days

When you register please indicate age division and event.
