Competition Information

Format

Teams will play best two out of three sets to 25 (no cap).  Third deciding set to 15. Whenever possible, a one day format will be used.

Officials

Each team is required to officiate. Teams will be responsible for officiating games when not scheduled to play. A thorough knowledge of scorekeeping, line judging and refereeing is required. An officiating schedule will be provided with the game schedule. Teams will be subject to forfeiture for failing to meet this requirement.  

Equipment

Officiating team is responsible for providing a game ball. 12 and Under game balls will be provided.

Age Determining Date

Sept. 1, 2007. An exception can be made to allow a waivered player to play with her club team from Spring of 2008 by writing a letter of request and sending it with team entry materials.
High School division will be based on the 2008-2009 school year.

Player Identification

Should questions relating to an athletes age occur, they must present a form of identification before being allowed to play. Forms of identification that are approved will be passport, driver's license, driver's permit, or a copy of a birth certificate and photo.

Roster

A team may have a minimum of six (6) and maximum of twelve (12) players. Teams must start each set with six players but may end the set due to injury with less. A player may only play on one team.

Roster Additions

Teams may have a maximum of 12 players. Roster changes may be made at no additional charge and must be postmarked by July 7. Teams that originally register online may make roster changes online until July 11. New players and/or replacement players must complete an Individual Entry Form and the waiver must be signed by a parent or legal guardian (for athletes under the age of 18). For replacement players, please indicate which player they are replacing. Roster limits will be enforced.

NCAA Requirements NCAA guidelines state that no more than two (2) student-athletes from the same Division I institution may participate on the same team. There are no restrictions on the number of student-athletes who may participate from Division II or III institutions. Check with your respective athletic director for specific information.
 

The Iowa Games web site will have an updated team list.  High school teams must rank themselves from 1 to 10 with 1 being noncompetitive and 10 being most competitive.
