Fun 4 X 100 & 4 x 400 Relays:Each relay member must be registered in an individual event by the deadline!!! Athletes are responsible for forming their own relay teams and providing their own baton. Athletes may run in different age divisions but relays comprised of persons under the age of 18 years must run in the oldest age division. These events will not count as one of an athlete's three (3) individual events. Competition FormatEvents will begin with the youngest age division and progress through all age divisions. Female contestants in each age division will compete first, followed by the male contestants in that age division. In events with only a few competitors, the meet management reserves the right to contest divisions together. Field event competitors MUST check-in at their field event prior to the start of competition. In all track events, heats will be run with the best time determining the finals placing (except 100 M Dash).
Heat SheetsOnly the 100 meter dash will be listed in heats and posted online 5 days prior to the meet. All other events will be set in heats at the starting line prior to the start of each event. This is to ensure heats are full and eliminate heats of 2 or 3 runners. Some heats may combine divisions and/or genders, but medals will still be awarded for each division and/or gender. RulesCurrent rules of USA Track & Field. Age Determining dateFriday, July 16, 2010. EquipmentAthletes must provide their own equipment (i.e. discus, shot put), 1/4" spikes maximum allowed, etc. All equipment must conform to USATF rules and regulations. Race Numbers / Athlete Check-inAthletes will be required to check-in at the starting line when their event is called. Hip numbers will be issued at that time. Field competitors are to check-in at the field event prior to the start of that event. T-shirt / Packet PickupAthlete T-shirts will only be available at Lot B6, north of Jack Trice Stadium, in Ames. No T-shirts or packets will be available on-site. Hip numbers will only be available the day of the race at the competition site. Hip numbers are NOT available at Lot B6 in Ames. Implement WeightsDiscus weight for all female divisions is 1 KG. Female Shot Put weight for 12 and under is 6 lbs. and for 13-18 is 4 KG. Male discus weight for 14 and under is 1 KG and 15-18 is 1.6 KG. Male Shot Put weight for 12 and under is 6 lbs.; 13-14 is 4 KG and 15-18 is 12 lbs. Hurdle Heights
1) Boys and Girls 11-14- 7 Flight 30" Hurdles Volunteers are NeededTrack and Field has the largest number of individual athletes.
