Individuals may enter the
DES MOINES WALK and the
AMES WALK
by indicating both the Des Moines and the Ames Event Code number
on their Individual
Entry Form accompanied with the single entry fee of $10
/ individual (No charge for 2010 Live Healthy Iowa
participants; wear
your 2010 LHI shirt the day of the walk.)
FAMILY RATE: A fee of $25 for a family (limit of 4
people) is also
available. Families
with more than four
individuals who wish to participate may pay the initial $25
fee and $5 for each additional family member. Individuals
entering under the "family rate" must mail all
Individual
Entry Forms/Waivers and the appropriate fees together. Each
athlete must complete an individual entry form. (A family
consists of a parent/legal guardian and their children/dependents
under the age of 18.)

After the deadlines listed above,

form(s) and fees to the start/finish location on the day
of each event. On-site entries must be paid with check
or in correct change. NO CHANGE WILL BE GIVEN.

Format
Des Moines Trail description - City
sidewalks in shady residential areas. Walk begins and ends
in historic Valley Junction. Directions: Take 63rd St
exit from I 235 and go south to Grand Ave. Turn right on
Grand to 4th St. and turn left . Parking is just past Elm
St. and in front of the Community Center on 5th St. Fifth
St. is one-way going north.
The Des Moines and
Ames walks are non-competitive 5 or 10-kilometer (3.1 or 6.2 mile) walks.
Open to athletes of all ages, a great family event. Children
under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Walk,
jog, run, or skate at your own pace, while you enjoy the sights
in the host cities. If that doesn't fit your schedule come
experience the many different facets of Ames. Pets may accompany participants,
however, they must be on a leash.
NOTE:
The Iowa Games Walks will be sanctioned. Persons
interested in receiving IVV credit also must register with
Greater Des Moines Volksports Association. There is no pre-registration.
