Competition
Format
Competition will be 5 vs. 5
(4 field players and a goalkeeper). Round robin play with a minimum of three
games per team, whenever possible. Preliminary games will be scheduled for 40
minutes with a 5 minute halftime. Playoff games will be scheduled for 50
minutes with a 5 minute halftime. Scoring will be based on win-loss-tie record
(i.e. 3 points per win, 1 point per tie, 0 points per loss). If a tie exists
after all preliminary games, then it will be broken by a point scoring system
that will be supplied with the rules.
Game Ball
A felt cover indoor soccer ball is to
be used. Each team is asked to bring one good game ball. A
#3 is used for Under 8; #4 is used for Under
10 - Under 12; a #5 will be used for all other divisions.
Rosters
A player may play on only one team. A
team may have a minimum of 5 players and a maximum of 12 players. Team coaches
and athletes are responsible for playing only eligible persons. The
new adult coed division must have a minimum of two (2) women on the field
at all times.

Teams
may have a maximum of 12 players. A player can appear
on only one team roster.
Roster changes may be made at no additional charge and must
be postmarked by January 16.
Teams that originally register online may make roster
changes online until January 21. New players and/or replacement players
must complete an
Individual
Entry Form and the waiver must be signed. For replacement
players, please indicate which player they are replacing.
Roster limits will be enforced.

Equipment
Players must wear shin guards and
proper uniform.

Player I.D.
Players must present one of the
following: a copy of a birth certificate with photo attached, driver’s
permit/license, provide a current player pass, INS port-of-entry stamp or
passport at check in prior to playing.
Age Determining
Date
Aug. 1, 2007.
The best answer to determine legal players is to ask
each player their age on August 1, 2007. For instance, if you are an
Under 12 team, then all players must be age 11 or younger on August 1,
2007. Basically, if your team played Under 12 in the fall of 2007, then
your team is Under 12 for the purposes of the Winter Games.
Referee & Coach
Requirements
Each team is
REQUIRED TO PROVIDE A
QUALIFIED REFEREE to
officiate at least three games
in its respective age division or older.
Some general statements about being a Qualified official:

Ability to
referee the center at the age level for which the referee is listed

Should be
someone you would want to work your gold medal game

Should have
some experience officiating at the listed level

the referee
can be USSF, AYSO, or High School registered
There will be an officials meeting at
friday night
following opening
ceremonies at the
five flags center,
and saturday morning
at roosevelt middle
school at 7:00 a.m.
Failure to provide a qualified referee could result in forfeiture of game(s).
A referee can be listed for only ONE team. Before
a referee is listed on the Team Form, please confirm with that person that
he/she can officiate.
After the game schedule is distributed, the referee coordinator will contact
the person listed.
If the person can not fulfill his/her obligation, the coach is responsible to
secure someone else, then notify the Iowa Games office.
Referees are to
bring their own
whistles to officiate.
These requirements must be met or the team may forfeit games or first game of
the day.
All youth teams must have a coach or manager who is at least 18 years of age.
