Competition
Format
Round robin tournament with
all teams playing three (3) games whenever possible. Women will play three
15-minute periods. Men will play three 15-minute periods.
Scoring
Medal winners in each division will be
based on win-loss-tie record (i.e. 2 points per win, 0 points per loss, 1 point
for a tie). If a tie exists after all games, then it will be broken by an
additional set of criteria that will be given with the game schedule.
Referee / Scorer
Requirements
The Iowa Games is
successful only through the efforts of its volunteers. Each team is required to
provide qualified individuals to assist with announcing and scorekeeping while
their team is playing. Each team will be contacted about providing
referees. In addition, each team must provide a USA Hockey sanctioned
referee for the game previous to or following their respective game.
Age
Limits
Men's adult competition will have a
minimum age of 18.
Rules
Current USA Hockey rules will apply. All
referees the team provides must be USA Hockey certified.
Equipment
Helmets are required for all
athletes.
Roster
Maximum number of players on a
team is 20. Players may appear on only one roster and can play on
only one team.

Teams
may have a maximum of 20 players. A player can appear
on only one team roster.
Roster changes may be made at no additional charge and must
be postmarked by January 30.
Teams that originally register online may make roster
changes online until February 4. New players and/or replacement players
must complete an
Individual
Entry Form and the waiver must be signed. For replacement
players, please indicate which player they are replacing.
Roster limits will be enforced.

Entry
Deadline
Note that ice hockey will be
filled in order of postmark date. Slots cannot be held. The Iowa Games office
will maintain the list of entered teams. Teams in excess of the maximum
will be placed on a waiting list. The maximum number of teams may be
adjusted at the discretion of the Iowa Games staff.
