Competition Format
Pool play. Depending on the number of
teams, pool winners may play off for
medals.
- NEW FOR 2008: Teams
will be guaranteed 4 games.
The tournament will be a two day
tournament for divisions with 4 or
more teams entered. Teams will
rate themselves during registration,
and tournament bracketing will be
based on ratings.
Game length will consist of a
running clock with two 18 minute halves.
Halftime is a maximum of 4 minutes.
Note: Divisions may be combined
if not enough teams enter.
Rules
Current National Federation of State High Schools
rules will apply, with Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union rule
adaptations for female divisions (may be slight modifications).
Roster
A team can have
a maximum of 12 players. A player can only appear on one
team roster. Athletes in 7th and 8th grade are advised to
check with their school athletic directors concerning eligibility
to participate. Teams are gender specific.
Player I.D.
Should there be any questions, coaches
should have available copies of players' IDs (school photos,
driving permits, birth certificates, etc.) at each game.
Roster Changes
Postmark deadline: January 16
Online Deadline: January 21
(waivers must be in the Iowa Games
office by 4:00 pm on January 23)
Teams
may have a maximum of 12 players. A player can appear
on only one team roster.
Roster changes may be made at no additional charge and must
be postmarked by January 16.
Teams that originally register online may make roster
changes online until January 21. New players and/or replacement players
must complete an
Individual
Entry Form and the waiver must be signed. For replacement
players, please indicate which player they are replacing.
Roster limits will be enforced.

3-point Line
The three-point
line will not be used in any division.
Ball Size
All divisions will use the regulation high
school girl's size ball (28.5 oz). Each team is asked to bring
one good game ball to play with. Teams are responsible for
providing their own warm up balls.
Uniforms
Teams are asked to have matching colored
shirts with numbers at least on the back.
