Competition Information

Senior Open Women

Teams must have at least 25% of players be 21 years of age and older.

Format

Bracket or round robin play. Scoring will be based upon a 10 point scoring system detailed in the tournament rules.  If a tie exists in points after all preliminary games, then it will be broken based upon criteria outlined in tournament rules.  Teams may be formed in any way.  Games will be 30 minute halves.

Teams may be divided into subdivision(s) based on a team's rating level.  Each team MUST submit a competitive rating level between 1 and 10 on the entry form.  A rating of 10 is the most competitive team ranking.  Please contact the Iowa Games office at 888-777-8881 ext. 3 if you have questions concerning your rating.

Age Determining Date

The first day of competition. Players must be at least 16 years of age by the day of the tournament to participate in this division.

REFEREE REQUIREMENTS:

Each team is REQUIRED TO PROVIDE QUALIFIED CENTER REFEREES to officiate or assist as needed in at least three (3) games.

Generally, a qualified official:

- must be able to referee the center at the division level for which the team is registered.

- should be someone you would want to work your gold-medal game

- should have some experience

- can be USSF, AYSO, or High School registered

- does not have to be certified, but merely needs to meet the requirements listed above.

A referee only can be listed for a maximum of two (2) teams. Teams will be held accountable for submitting a qualified referee(s) that will complete three (3) games!  These requirements must be met or the team will lose advancement points or forfeit games.

Player I.D.

Players must present one of the following I.D.'s at team registration to be eligible: copy of a birth certificate with photo attached, driver's permit/license (no photocopies allowed), provide a current player pass, or passport.

Roster

Female players may register separately on one team outside female divisions and one team within female divisions.  NOTE:  No special scheduling arrangements will be made to ensure there are not schedule conflicts.  If scheduling conflicts occur it is the player's responsibility to decide in which game they want to participate.  NO SCHEDULE CHANGES WILL BE MADE!  Male players may register for only one team.  Roster changes may be made at no additional charge and must be postmarked by July 16.  Teams that originally register online may make roster changes online until July 21.  New players and/or replacement players must complete an Individual Entry Form and the waiver must be signed by a parent or legal guardian (for athletes under the age of 18).  For replacement players, please indicate which player they are replacing.  No roster changes will be allowed in the Iowa Games office after July 21.  On-site roster additions will be accepted on Friday, July 25, or Saturday, July 26, just prior to the team's first game of the tournament for $20.  On-site additions must be handled through the Senior Soccer Commissioners with a  maximum of five (5) on-site roster additions per team.  On-site roster substitutions are not allowed, only roster deletions (no refunds) and/or additions (at $20).  On-site roster additions are not guaranteed a T-shirt.  Roster limits will be enforced.

Coaches who register online are allowed to make roster changes online.  To make roster changes online please click on the link in the above box on the right.

Sportsmanship

The Iowa Games believes very strongly in promoting good sportsmanship and character.  A sportsmanship award will be given to one team in each division.
