Competition Format

The youth and adult competition will take place during the same meet.

Events will begin with the youngest age division and progress through all age divisions. Female contestants in each age division will compete first, followed by the male contestants in that age division. In all track events, heats will be run with the best time determining the final placing (except 100 M Dash). Only the 100 M dash will be listed in heats.

Seed Times:  Seed times are not required, however, athletes can indicate their seed times on the entry form or during online registration.  These seed times will be taken into consideration when creating the meet.

Youth: Limited to 3 individual events
Adult: Limited to 4 individual events

Rules 

Current USA Track & Field rules will apply unless noted otherwise.

T-shirts
Athletes will receive a colored T-shirt.  Pre-registered athletes have the option to upgrade to a dri-fit shirt for an additional $10.
T-shirt pick up will be located in parking lot S7 on the Iowa State University Campus.  Parking lot S7 is located east of Jack Trice Stadium; access to lot S7 is from University Boulevard.


Medals sponsored by Grinnell Mutual
Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be given in each division

Volunteers
Track and Field has the largest number of individual athletes. As a result, many volunteers are needed to time, judge, mark field events, etc. Please help ensure a quality event and volunteer. Call the Ames Convention and Visitors Bureau at 1.800.288.7470 to find out how you can get involved.

*50 M available for 6U, 7 - 8, 9 - 10 age groups.
**Hurdles not available for 6U, 7 - 8, 9 - 10 age groups.  30" height regardless of age and gender. All athletes will run the 100 M distance except for Males 16-49, who will run the 110 M distance. 100 M hurdlers will run first, regardless of age, followed by the 110 M hurdles.
