Competition Format

Bracket or round robin play. Scoring will be based upon a 10 point scoring system detailed in the tournament rules. If a tie exists in points after all preliminary games, then it will be broken based upon criteria outlined in tournament rules. Teams may be formed in any way. Games will be 30 minute halves. Teams may have no more than 25% of their players under the age of 18. Players must be at least 16 years of age to compete in the Senior Soccer division.

Female players may register on one team outside female divisions and one team within female divisions.  No special scheduling arrangements will be made to ensure there are not scheduling conflicts.  Male players may register for only one team.

Roster Size

11 v 11: Max 18 players for men; 20 players for coed
6 v 6: 10
Coed has a maximum of 7 male players on the field during the game.


Age Determining Date

July 21, 2017 - Players must be at least 16 years of age by the day of the tournament to participate.


T-shirts

Athletes will receive a colored T-shirt.  Athletes have the option to upgrade to a dri-fit shirt for an additional $10.  T-shirt pick up will be available at your venue

 

Medals sponsored by Grinnell Mutual

Gold, silver or bronze medals will be awarded in each division.


Referee Requirements

For the FIRST time in 30 years the Iowa Games will be paying soccer officials.   

Providing names of officials is no longer required, however we still request your help to build our officials database.  If you know anyone that would be interested in being a paid referee at the Iowa Games soccer tournament, please include the information below during registration or contact our Adult Soccer Commssioner, Cathie Larmie.

Players must present one of the following I.D.'s at team registration to be eligible: copy of a birth certificate with photo attached, driver's permit/license (no photocopies allowed), provide a current player pass, or passport.
