Competition Format
Hosted by the DSMTri, this is an open course event, meaning that participants must share the road with traffic. For safety, helmets must be worn during the cycling portion of the competition and no headphones/ipods will be allowed on any part of the course. Participants should leave their running shoes in the transition area.
There will be a swim clinic offered on Saturday, July 13. Click here for more details.
Course will consist of the following:
Swim - Open water, distance of 1/4 mile
Bike - 15 miles (to view the bike route click HERE or HERE)
Run - 5K
Wave Schedule -
Wave 1: Elite Wave - Men and Women
Wave 2: Ages 16-34 Men
Wave 3: Ages 16-34 Women
Wave 4: Ages 35-49 Men
Wave 5: 35-60+ Women and Athena (Clydesdale women)
Wave 6: 50-60+ Men and Clydesdale men
Wave 7: Teams (Men, Women & Coed) and 15 and under boys & girls
True Time Racing Service will chip time the event. Chips will be distributed with packets
Rules
Triathlon Federation USA Rules will be followed, with the right to make exceptions. This is not a sanctioned race. Note: Helmets must be worn during the cycling portion of the competition. For safety reasons, no headphones/ipods etc. will be allowed on any part of the course.
