The 2012 Iowa Games will feature four divisions of competition: Under-22 Boys (Full contact Olympic Rugby) - Must register through commissioner Under-22 Girls (Full contact Olympic Rugby) - Must register through commissioner Open (non-contact T3 Rugby)

Under-22 Boys/Girls, Full Contact Olympic Rugby The U-22 Boys/Girls competitions will conform to the International Rugby Board Laws of the Game and all applicable USA Rugby Guidance documentation for High Performance Competitions in effect at the time of the competition. The competition will feature an initial 3-team pool play followed by a knock-out championship. The six teams will be divided into two pools of three teams each. Every team will play two games in pool play, with no allowing for overtime; pool play games may end in ties. At the end of pool play, teams will be ranked based on: 1. Wins and losses 2. Aggregated Point Differential 3. Aggregated Points For 4. Aggregated Points Against 5. Coin Toss (e.g. all three teams play every game to a 7-7 tie) Following pool play, a cross-pool semi-final will lead to a championship game. The first seed in one pool will play the second seed of the other pool. There will not be any consolation games. All game times, substitutions, and adjudications will conform to iRB and USA Rugby Laws and Guidelines.
Open Non-Contact T3 Rugby The Open competition will adhere to the rules of T3Rugby. The number of games, pool format, and championship structure will be determined at the close of registration and based on the number of individuals and teams that are registered.
