iowa's original mud run
3 Mile Mud Run
This unique trail is like no other in Iowa! In the heart of Des Moines, the course is carved through a grass and wooded stretch along the Des Moines River. Racers of all abilities will have a great time traversing obstacles and several mud pits including the signature Mucky Mud Pit! Participants must be at least 6 years or older to compete. Bring towels and extra clothes as make-shift showers (water hoses) will be provided. (Entry fee includes Mud Run T-shirt, post race refreshments and a Mud Run towel)
This is a FUN run and it will not be timed.
New For 2013: Waves will be offered for the 3 mile race. During registration please select your desired wave time.
Wave 1 | Time 9:30 a.m. | 500 spots available
Wave 2 | Time 10:30 a.m. | 500 spots available
Wave 3 | Time 11:30 a.m. | 500 spots available
Additional waves/spots available may be added at a later to accommodate entries.
1 Mile FUN Run
This shortened course will include a fun 1 mile run through some obstacles before racers venture in the Mucky Mud Pit. Participants must be at least 6 years or older to compete. (Entry Fee includes Mud Run T-shirt, post race refreshments and a Mud Run towel)
LITTLE muddy BUDDY TROT
This race is FREE for kids 5 and younger. The Little Muddy Buddy Trot will be a chance for the kids to get muddy as they venture through the Mucky Mud Pit. Parents are encouraged to run with their child.(Entry fee does NOT include a Mud Run T-shirt). T-shirts can be purchased during online registration for $5.00. Entry fee includes post race refreshments and a medal.

Finishers Award - everyone who finishes the 3 mile race will receive an award

Water Stations - additional water stations located around the course

PACKET PICK UP/check in
Packet pick up will take place at Cownie Soccer/Sports Complex on Friday, June 14 from 4 pm - 7 pm OR Saturday, June 15 from 7:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. All paid registrants will receive a t-shirt and Iowa Games Mud Run towel.
Race Tips
Wear your grungy clothes and old running shoes. (No Spikes Allowed)
Make sure your shoes are double or triple tied.
Avoid clothes with pockets, pockets carry extra mud.
Leave your jewelry at home.
Bring a trash bag, dry clothes and towel.
Make-shift shower stations available.
Men's and Women's Changing tents available.
We are not responsible for your personal gear.
Late Entries
Race day registration accepted at packet pick up on Friday or Saturday morning.
1 mile onsite fee - $20.00
3 mile onsite fee - $35.00
For athletes under age 18, please bring a completed the Mud Run Entry Form, with the parental signature on the waiver portion, or have the parents attend and sign the waiver on-site. 3 mile
