Winter Iowa Games Converge in Dubuque This Weekend

Dubuque, Iowa - The 20th Anniversary Winter Iowa Games powered by the Iowa Food & Family Project will converge in Dubuque Saturday, Jan. 28 and Sunday, Jan. 29. The main weekend Winter Iowa Games will feature 12 sports and 3,000 athletes. Alpine skiing racing, youth basketball, cross country skiing, a fitness walk, youth ice hockey, indoor soccer, martial arts, a 5K road race, snowboarding, table tennis, volleyball and wrestling are all on the schedule of events.

The Winter Iowa Games offers athletes the opportunity to be a part of an Olympic-style sports festival. This annual event brings thousands of athletes and fans together to celebrate amateur athletics in Iowa. Athletes still have the opportunity to register on site for the following sports: alpine ski racing, cross country skiing, the fitness walk, the 5K road race, snowboarding and wrestling.

The 20th Anniversary Winter Iowa Games will continue in February with events taking place around the state Feb. 4-5, Feb. 11-12 and Feb. 25 in nine communities.

Feb. 4
Horseshoes - Eldora; Trapshooting - Ackley, DeWitt, Harlan and Montrose

Feb. 11-12 - Cedar Rapids
Adult Men's Basketball, Dodgeball, Figure Skating, Fitness Walk and Adult Ice Hockey

Feb. 11 Archery NASP - Johnston; Fitness Walk - Des Moines

Feb. 25 Women's 6 on 6 Basketball - Story City
